When I got home, the entire cottage was dark except for the little light under the range hood. I hadn’t stayed out that much later, so Ryan must’ve gone to sleep the moment he got in. I dropped my bag and peeled off my coat, kicking off my boots in the process. After a drink of water and quick trip to the bathroom, I headed for the bedroom.

The room was dark so I turned on the flashlight on my phone. I practically melted when I spotted Ryan, fast asleep on one side of the bed, a barrier of pillows running down the middle. I couldn’t help but smile as I slipped off my skirt and crawled into the other side of the bed. A little maneuvering and I had my bra off in a flash. I lay down, facing him, and squished down one of the pillows so I could see his face. It was the last thing I saw before I fell asleep.
